Open House Business After Hours

Sauk Valley Community College kicks off its year-long 50th anniversary celebration on Thursday, July 24, 2014 with a networking event for business professionals in the Sauk Valley Area. This combined event will be hosted with the Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce, Rock Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and will take place from 5:00-6:30 pm on Sauk’s back lawn overlooking the beautiful Rock River. Cash bar provided by Crystal Cork of Dixon, IL.

Rockin’ on the River

Date: September 13, 2014 from 3:30-8:30pm

Location: Sauk’s south lawn overlooking the Rock River

SVCC will celebrate its 50th Anniversary by hosting a musical concert on Sauk’s beautiful south lawn overlooking the Rock River. The evening will feature the Dixon Municipal band, the Sterling Municipal Band and the Rock River Jazz Band. Rock-n-Roll favorites from the decades will be featured.BBQ dinner available from Baker Street and cash bar provided by Crystal Cork both of Dixon, IL.

Youth Basketball Tournament & Alumni Classic

Date: December 30 & 31, 2014

Location: Sauk’s West Mall & Newman High School gymnasium

Sauk Valley Community College will host the first annual Youth Basketball Tournament on December 30 – December 31. Seventh/eighth grade teams will be invited to participate from around the SVCC district in this two day tournament. Girls and boys teams will be divided into two eight team brackets. All teams are guaranteed three games. On day two of the tournament, SVCC will host a co-ed alumni basketball game featuring our SVCC star basketball players from the past.

Sauk Family Safari: Exploring 50 Years of Learning

Date: April 11, 2015 from 10:00am–2:00pm

Location: SVCC main building

Come explore Sauk Valley Community College! Experience cool art, science experiments, fun technology, an obstacle course and more—it is all here, waiting to be discovered. This family friendly event will allow you and your family to explore the College, engage in learning activities, earn a free lunch, and see what programs SVCC has to offer. There’s something for everyone!

Community Thank You Gala

Date: July 18, 2015 at 6:00pm

Location: SVCC’s East Mall

Sauk Valley Community College will host a gala as the finale for Sauk’s 50th anniversary celebration. This event will include dinner, musical entertainment, and a cash bar. The 50th Anniversary Commemorative Video will also be presented. Cash bar provided by Crystal Cork of
Dixon, IL.

Participation in
Six Community Parades

SVCC faculty, staff, current and former students and Sauk’s mascot “Sammy” will ride on or walk next to the SVCC fire truck handing out candy, brochures and other Sauk promotional items. SVCC will participate in six community parades spread across our district. See you there!

Sprint & Stroll 5.Ok

Date: April 11, 2015
Check-in/Registration begins at 8:00am with the run scheduled to begin at 9:00am.

Location: Check-in/registration will take place at the East end of the SVCC campus.

SVCC is hosting a 5.0k run/walk to celebrate Sauk’s 50th anniversary. Participants of all ages can trek around Sauk’s campus to enjoy the beautiful scenery in this competitive race. Awards will be given to the fastest runners. After the race, stay and enjoy refreshments, learn more about the history of Sauk, and explore Sauk during the free Family Safari event.
